Mr. Scott received his law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, where he also received his Masters of Laws in Taxation. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Mr. Scott had also completed multi-year post doctoral programs with the Esperti Peterson Institute with a concentration in wealth preservation and holds the designation of Advanced Wealth Strategist and is a Fellow of the Esperti Peterson Institute and the Estate and Wealth Strategies Institute at Michigan State University.

Mr. Scott had over 40 years of experience advising individuals, families, and business owners on tax law matters and focused on estate, business, wealth preservation and tax planning. He was a nationally-known speaker, author, and educator. Mr. Scott taught estate planning, wealth preservation, tax and business classes and courses at Metropolitan State University, Front Range Community College, the Estate and Wealth Strategies Institute at Michigan State University, the Academy of Multidisciplinary Practice in Sarasota, Florida, the Wealth Management Certificate Program of the Investment Management Consultants Association, the Business Enterprise Institute, the American Society of Women Accountants, the National Business Institute, National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys and others. He had also taught numerous continuing education classes in estate planning, wealth preservation, tax and business succession for lawyers, CPAs, Certified Financial Planners ™ and insurance professionals. Mr. Scott was listed in Who’s Who in American Law.

Mr. Scott had participated in five books on estate planning, wealth preservation, taxation and business succession. He was coauthor of “Estate Planning and Taxation in Colorado,” published by Bradford Publishing and a contributing author of, “Love, Money, Control: Reinventing Estate Planning,” published by Quantum Press, “Your Legacy; Meaningful Estate Planning” published in 2008, and “The Complete Guide to Estate and Financial Planning in Turbulent Times,” published in 2010. He was an editor and contributing author to “Being in Business is a Funny Thing – Getting Out is Not! A Business Owner’s Guide to Growing & Transitioning the Business,” published in 2011 by Collaborative Press.

Admitted to practice before all courts in the State of Colorado, he was a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Wealth Counsel, and the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, along with the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Northern Colorado Estate Planning Council, and the Financial Planning Association.
