Our attorneys recognize that real estate law matters involve economic, business and sometimes even personal considerations. When we handle your real estate law matter, our attorneys will not lose sight of your goals and objectives. As in all areas in which we practice, our goal is to work with you to create and implement rock solid® legal strategies for success.

Our real estate attorneys have the experience and know-how to handle any real estate law matter. We represent business entities and individuals, and can assist with all kinds of transactions and matters, including, but not limited to, in the following areas:

Purchase and Sale of Real Estate – The process of buying and selling real estate can be quite complex. The considerations vary depending on the type of property, whether commercial, farm and ranch, residential or vacant land, and there are almost always many, competing interests amongst the parties involved. CP2 attorneys empower their clients to complete purchase and sale transactions with confidence, knowing they have the right expertise on their team to get the deal done, while minimizing their exposure to risk and maximizing value.

Real Estate Development and Construction – Real estate development and construction projects are a major economic driver in our markets, and, as such, are a primary focus for our firm. Our team has the breadth of experience in such projects to assist from end-to-end, from financing and acquisition to planning and permitting to construction and sale. We help developers navigate the entitlement and land use planning process, whether that includes creating subdivisions or other planned unit communities, annexation, dealing with access through public or private easements, changing zoning, completing public improvements or otherwise making the project building permit ready. We help builders negotiate and form their contracts and manage the construction process, including in relation to bonds, guarantees, sureties, subcontractors, liens and other security interests, insurance, construction claims or otherwise.

Real Estate Leasing – The leasing of real estate is one of the most fundamental practices in real estate, and, yet, it can be incredibly complicated. The nature of the relationship between landlord and tenant involves issues similar to purchase and sale transactions, but also on-going contractual terms that govern a long-term endeavor. As a result, lease agreements tend to be lengthy, cumbersome documents. Our team assists clients, whether landlords or tenants, in commercial or residential properties, to structure their lease agreements so as to appropriately allocate responsibilities and risks and ensure critical issues are properly addressed, so that clients can rest assured that they have an agreement that keeps them protected and that will enable a lasting relationship.

Real Estate Finance – Real Estate finance is a highly specialized field. CP2 attorneys have a wealth of experience assisting financial institutions, as well as private companies and individuals, understand and manage risks in financing real estate. This includes in relation to complex ownership structures, title issues, lien positions, perfection, loan structuring, due diligence and compliance. See our Banking Law Practice Area for even more information.
