In his law practice, Mr. Koechel focuses on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions and has particular experience with acquisitions, sales, development, financing, restructuring, leasing and associated corporate matters. He has helped many clients with myriad types of business deals and agreements and regularly provides general counsel services to businesses and individuals. Mr. Koechel has helped his clients successfully complete wide variety of individual real estate transactions, from the sale of a portfolio of residential apartment projects to an institutional buyer for well in excess of $400 million to the acquisition of raw land for retail development.
Mr. Koechel began his law practice as a litigator in Texas, but soon became increasingly interested in real estate and business-related transactions. He pursued these interests back to graduate school. After earning an MBA, he transitioned his law practice to focus on commercial real estate transactions and other real estate, corporate and business matters and disputes. He has since become a licensed Colorado attorney and works with clients and on transactions in both Colorado and Texas. Mr. Koechel is based out of the firm’s Denver office.
Mr. Koechel earned his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, attended Texas Tech University’s School of Law for his Juris Doctorate and returned to school at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business where he received his Master of Business Administration.
He has been named a Colorado Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2021.
