Coan, Payton & Payne, LLC has an immediate opening for an experienced legal assistant and/or paralegal to support our transactions team in our Fort Collins, Colorado office. What we are looking for:

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ of relevant experience as a legal assistant/paralegal with a high quality law firm (preference shown to applicants with a background in business law and/or real estate law)
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred but not required
  • Highly organized and proactive
  • Excellent communication, grammar and proofreading skills
  • Strong technical skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Must have a great sense of humor
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to remain flexible with regard to assigned duties and demonstrate a desire to learn and grow
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize workload
  • Work well under deadline pressures
  • Experience with basic real estate and/or business transactions
  • Experience with Worldox or other documents management systems

General Responsibilities:

  • Managing multiple attorney calendars
  • Filing with various state and county document filing systems including Simplifile
  • Drafting simple correspondence
  • Docketing and tracking deadlines
  • Proofing and editing documents under the supervision of an attorney
  • Keeping track of all transaction documents on internal systems
  • General administrative support for the transactions team

This is a full-time, in office position, M-F, 8-5.  After 90 days, this position has the potential for up to two days of work from home.  The salary range is $46,000 – $75,000 per year, salary will be based on applicable experience.
