Abe Laydon Joins Coan, Payton & Payne, LLC

Mr. Laydon is located in the firm’s Denver, Colorado office. He represents clients in complex commercial and residential real estate matters including development, entitlements, leasing, condemnation, foreclosure, and conveyancing of homes, office buildings, retail centers, industrial properties, hotels, restaurants, apartment complexes, condominiums, and vacant land. Mr. Laydon also works closely with home owners associations and special districts in the operation and management of Colorado communities. As a Douglas County Planning Commissioner, Mr. Laydon has considerable experience with land use applications, zoning, and subdivision regulations.

In addition to his real estate practice, Mr. Laydon also advises businesses and nonprofit organizations with regard to mergers and acquisitions, contracts, emerging energy matters, and entity formation; handles litigation and alternative dispute resolution through mediation and arbitration; and counsels individuals and families with their estate planning and estate administration needs.

Mr. Laydon is a graduate of the Leadership Program of the Rockies and is an active member of the community, serving on several charitable boards and engaging on multiple civic and political endeavors. He is a member of the Denver Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He has also served as an officer and member of Denver Active 20-30 benefitting underprivileged youth and the Metro Denver Board of Christian Legal Society.

During law school, Mr. Laydon was the winner of CU’s premier moot court competition, an editor of the Colorado Journal of International Environmental Law and Policy, and Vice President of his class.

Mr. Laydon is a fifth-generation Coloradan born in Denver. He speaks conversational French and is fluent in Spanish. In his free time, he enjoys Colorado sports, art and film, being involved with Cherry Hills Community Church, and spending time with his wonderful wife and their two children.
