Coan, Payton & Payne, LLC is Pleased to Announce That Mark Hamilton Jas Joined the Firm

Coan, Payton & Payne, LLC is pleased to announce that Mark Hamilton has joined the firm, bringing more than 34 years of experience in corporate tax law, tax planning, and tax controversy matters.

Mark’s practice focuses on advising clients on tax appeals and litigation involving federal, international, and state and local tax matters for corporations, partnerships, and individuals. His work includes structuring tax-efficient transactions — including tax-free and taxable acquisitions and dispositions, spin-offs, and internal restructurings — as well as securing favorable rulings from the IRS.

Having worked with both public and private companies across a wide range of industries and countries, Mark brings a particularly strong international perspective to his practice. His international background includes two years in Stockholm, Sweden, where he served as European Tax Counsel, advising foreign operations on tax matters, developing a European tax controversy practice, and managing mergers and acquisitions.

Mark received his Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from DePaul University College of Law, his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law, and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Northern Illinois University. Mark is a admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the United States Tax Court. He is also a member of the Bar of the States of Colorado, Alaska, and Illinois, and is active in the Tax Sections of the Colorado, Alaska and American Bar Associations.
