“We have clients that are active in the oil and gas industry and the development of the Bakken oil field. Becoming licensed in North Dakota will allow us to better serve their needs here and in North Dakota,” stated Founding Member Brett Payton.

Mr. Coan received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration with honors from the University of Northern Colorado and his Juris Doctorate from University of Denver. Mr. Coan is admitted to practice in Arizona, North Dakota and Colorado. Mr. Coan’s practice is focused on corporate and real estate matters including purchase and sale transactions, business organization and capitalization, corporate merger and acquisition transactions, land planning and development, oil and gas development and all issues related to financial institutions and lender/creditor rights involving real estate and commercial loan transactions.

Mr. Payton received his law degree from Southwestern University in Los Angeles and his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University. He received his license to practice law in 2003 and is also admitted to practice in California, North Dakota, and Colorado. He is a past recipient of the Frank Henderson Award for professionalism from the Weld County Bar Association, and previously served as an at-large commissioner on the City of Greeley Planning Commission.
