William (“Bill”) Garcia Joins CP2

_0001s_0000_Bill Garcia 1.webCoan, Payton & Payne, LLC is pleasded to announce former Weld County Commissioner, William (“Bill”) Garcia has joined the firm. Mr. Garcia’s practice will emphasize real estate law including purchase and sale transactions, land use and development matters as well as general business and corporate transactions. Mr. Garcia’s practice will have a particular focus on the legal needs of public and private general aviation airports and service companies operating in the oil and gas industry.

Mr. Garcia graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. Mr. Garcia received his law degree from the University of Denver. After passing the Colorado Bar Exam in 1997, he opened his law office in Greeley, Colorado where he practiced law until his election in 2006 as an at-Large Weld County Commissioner.

As a Weld County Commissioner, Mr. Garcia served as a commissioner coordinator for the Departments of Human and Social Services, Planning, Public Works, Public Health, Agricultural Extension and was twice elected Chairman of the Board. Mr. Garcia has also served on a number of other boards and commissions, including the Greeley Weld County Airport Authority, Upstate Colorado Economic Development, East Colorado Small Business Development Center, Evans Economic Development Advisory Committee, Weld Project Connect and the Weld County Board of Equalization.

Mr. Garcia was recognized by the Weld County Farm Bureau for his service to the agricultural community and by the Black American West Museum for preservation and interpretation of the Dearfield Townsite. He was also recognized by the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Weld County for his work to improve tourism in Weld County. He is also an American, State and Local Government instructor at AIMS Community College.

Mr. Garcia’s significant achievements and positive impact on communities throughout Weld County make him a key addition to our team and enhances our firm’s ability to serve clients from across Weld County.
