Willis V. Carpenter and Andrew S. Klatskin Join CP2 as Of Counsel

CP2 is pleased to announce that Willis V. Carpenter and Andrew S. Klatskin have become Of Counsel to the firm. Both practice in all areas of real estate and commercial transactions and will work in the firm’s Denver, Colorado office. “We feel incredibly priviledged to work with two of the absolute best real estate lawyers around,” said Managing Member G. Mr. Carpenter is one of the most well-known and respected real estate attorneys in Colorado. He has authored numerous real estate law publications including Volumes I and II of the Colorado Real Estate Practice, CLE in Colorado, Inc. He has testified as an expert witness related to real estate matters in more than 75 trials and arbitrations in Colorado state and federal courts. He is a strong supporter of continuing legal education. He began instructing at the University of Denver, College of Law in 1968 and lecturing for the Colorado Bar Association (CBA) in 1972. He has received several awards including the first ever Real Estate Hall of Fame award from the CBA in 2004.

Mr. Carpenter is a graduate of Princeton University, A.B., cum laude, 1951; and Harvard Law School, LL.B, 1954. He was on active and reserve duty in the United States Naval Reserve, Naval Intelligence, 1954-1977, retiring with the rank of Captain.

Mr. Klatskin is one of the leading Colorado lawyers with a long-term focus on real estate law. He too has authored numerous real estate articles for real estate practitioners. He was also Chair of the Real Estate Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association from 1987-88 and served on the Board of Governors from 1989-1990. Mr. Klatskin has been recognized by his peers as a Colorado Super Lawyer from 2006 to the present. He is also a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.

Mr. Klatskin received his B.S. from Ohio State University in 1969, his M.B.A. from Long Island University in 1971, and his J.D. from the University of Mississippi in 1973. He and Mr. Carpenter founded the law firm of Carpenter & Klatskin, P.C., in 1978.
